To close Black History Month 2023, we collaborated with Melanin Flavours and New Balance to celebrate culture, identity, and creativity.
The challenge was to create an event that transcended the traditional campaign format — turning it into a cultural platform that amplified the voices of diaspora creatives in Rome.

Art Direction

We defined the creative direction of The Black Renaissance campaign, translating Melanin Flavours’ message of empowerment and representation into a cohesive visual and experiential identity that connected naturally with New Balance’s ethos.

Media Production & Social Content

Together with RIV Production, we curated and produced a digital photo exhibition and a short film featuring the Melanin Flavours talents styled by Suede Store. The visual assets became the core of the in-store storytelling and social amplification.

Event Production

We organized and managed the in-store event at SUEDE, transforming the space into a hybrid gallery and community hub. The event hosted over 200 guests and included a panel talk with Boris Akeem and Emmanuel Anyigor, as well as a music set curated by Double Trouble and DJ Velia (Stella VOMB) and DJ Ramingo (Juan-Claudio Averooff).

Community Activation

We built bridges between Rome’s creative community, Melanin Flavours, and New Balance, creating an inclusive platform that gave visibility to Black creatives in Italy and opened a conversation about diversity, identity, and belonging.

THE OUTCOME

The event successfully connected brand storytelling and cultural authenticity, positioning The Black Renaissance as a meaningful moment for representation in Rome’s creative scene.
With over 200 guests, organic media coverage, and high engagement on social platforms, the collaboration between Melanin Flavours, Suede, and New Balance reaffirmed the power of community-led storytelling and inclusivity within brand culture.
